Not bacon, not sausages
Not even Ham…
Come on you know me
Who I am?
I come between the E and the O
In what rhymes with towels
And no I’m not one
To write about bowels!
Now that you’ve figured out
My message's first word
Let's play some more for
The second and the third
I am the second in this
Right very sentence
Just say out loud Eminem –
That’ll end all the suspense.
The third one’s the one
Makes me hang my head in shame.
For having disappeared writing novel
And be busy playing games.
It’s been a busy month
Much like the African safari.
So the last word, says it all
How deeply I am - ….
Guess you've figured out what I meant to say by now. :P
All the cryptic stuff coz I've been playing my fav. game of all times - Klueless http://www.ahvan.in/ahvan/klueless5/
It's an online treasure hunt game. And yours truly is again in the Hall of Fame this year for being in the top 25o (#95 actually out of the thousands who play it) to complete all 38 levels.
That took only 3 days (of no sleep, minimal food and lotsa rants from family, friends and bosses) though.
So for the rest of the days I've been away I'll blame it on Cat for making me enroll into NaNoWriMo. I sucked at that. Have only written around 6000 words.
Also, I've resigned from my job with no back up option mind you.
Call it a leap of faith. I am totally sure that the job I was doing I didn't want to do that.
Am pretty confident I'll be able to make it well into the work I love doing.
Most probably I'll be moving into a small firm of 10-15 people.
So there. Too many things to do. Too little time. But would never want to let my blog die. So I'll make time. Next week is my last in the current company. Hopefully, things would be smoother from then onwards. So 'forget me not' while am away okay?
I'll be Back! (Or may be, I am.. :D)

You could have designed a level for Klueless 5... your rhyme's amazing!
Thanks for being a klueless buddy!!! :)
you bet, this is the best game ever!! :)
Wishing you luck in whatever u do... i am sure you'll have loadsa fun doing what u love doing the most... :)
keep writing, keep inspiring :)
Klueless eh? I'd be a natural...;-) Never have a scooby what's going on!
Resigned? No plan B? Brave man!
How about driving instructor? Just started learning myself. Managed to avoid running anyone over on zebra crossings up to now....just...;-)
Good luck old bean and let us all know you're ok eh?
cheers mate
4D
well I'm relatively new to your blog...read a few of your earlier posts and loved them...hope to see you post often...keep writing :)
Yamini -
I intend to do just that. We are planning to start our own online quiz portal. Would love to discuss ideas with you on that. :D
Am sure we can pull of a respectable job. :P
Four Dinners -
Its not bad as it sounds. My current job in a very big firm was sucking big time. I realized I am not built to handle all the politics and planning that come along with it. I am more of a free soul. I have a couple of job offers I am considering. But I want at least a months time off to figure out the path I need to follow.
I am sounding more like A preacherman! And am not even drunk today... yet! :P
Umesh -
Welcome here then! And I use this blog mostly for personal rants these days.
You can check out my other blog:
http://flashfiction.in
for more fiction stuff. Better stuff is over there.
Also, I highly recommend my blogroll to everyone. Some very great authors out there. (Some even published... or about to :))
Do stick around!
You're going to commit hari-kari??? DON'T DO IT, ANIKET!!! Whatever it is, it's not worth it!!!
Oh, wait.
Did I mention that I suck at riddles? ;)
You're funny. I liked your poem and clues very much. And I'm crazy impressed by your awesome gaming skills! What's a novel compared to that? :P
We won't forget you. So leap away! :)
Oh, ye of unspoken cleaverness...most impressive.
And it took me, ahem, two read throughs to get it.
Good luck with the job change. Your leap of faith sounds more like courage. I admire that.
Take good care, Aniket! Looking forward to seeing you around more. But no pressure. (I mean, come on, it would be a little silly for me to pressure you on that. :) )
Sarah -
Hari-kiri?! Don't ever try your hand at Klueless. EVER! :D
And you know the details. I now figure the news came out to look like a sad one in the post. But I've actually never been more relieved and happier in years.
The devils advocates are offering me a trip up states as a bait to stay back though. :P
Jen -
I've always ALWAYS truly believed that life lies in "The foolishness of things". So have to take a few foolish decisions and make the most of them.
I have been just talking and talking to everyone about how much I hate my job. So it was about time I did something about it. Dun worry, am a big fan of The Joker. Joker always saves the last trick. ;) So am not done by any means.
Everything is going according to the plan. One day all the pieces shall come together for my masterplan. :)
Now to finally seek the answer to the question:
"How would history remember you? What would be your contribution to the history?"
(Okay that makes 2 questions right? Well, shoot me!)
When you told me on the phone that you'd quit your job I was sure you did it coz you had another job lined up... But, whatever... I just KNOW that someone as clever as you won't be outta work for long. You've proved how brilliant you are at cryptic riddles!
And if you were that unhappy in your job then you did the right thing.
Hope this'll leave you with more time for blogging at least.
Good luck with whatever you pursue Aniket - I know you'll get to where you wanna be!! :D
Clever poem, Aniket! I love it!
Good luck with everything you want to do! I think it's admirable that you quit a job you didn't like rather than let it kill your soul...
There's a little award waiting for you at my blog. :-)
So there you are, you've been stucked with Nanowrimo? dunno that but the thing is i've missed your blogs, been following you since I met you at lena's....:)

Margaret -
I have options, but I don't want to jump into something that I'll regret later. I have some ad hoc projects to work on that will ensure my steady income for a few months. Hopefully by then I would be a much more skilled person.
I want to create. The end product should be something visible/audible that others could see. That wasn't happening where I was working.
Now am venturing into developing websites/facebook apps/i-phone apps, etc. So hopefully you'll see my work everywhere. :P
Amity -
Thanks a lot for following me.
I suck at poetry too. Fiction pieces are okayish though, if you want to check out.
I thought I already did add you in my blogroll. Will check again. I have to do major updating around.
Have revamp my other blog too. One by one they shall all fall. ;)
Glad you're sticking around.
Time is a big issue. Let's hope it never becomes a fatal one - either for you of me.
Vesper -
It was a hard decision to make. Dad is still convinced that its a bad idea. Guess, I'll have to work harder to convince him otherwise.
Thanks a million for the award!
Dave -
I sure hope not. I don't see that threat in the near future at least.
Thanks for stopping by!
Life is so short! Remember that! Also please to remember, that this 'almost Poetry' is not so. I always come away with something after reading your words and that is what Poetry should do. You are young, fresh in your writing and it is a pleasure to read you Aniket.Don't ask me to solve this though. With a brain like mine it is near impossible! 'I'm saying sorry'?
SarahA -
You are right on the money there. It wasn't that hard to crack there now, was it? :D
Thank you so much for the pat on the back. But seriously after reading the poems by the likes of Dave,Karen, Kaye, Joaquin, Cat, Margaret, Jason, Sarah, Vesper and you (I might even have missed a few). I cant help but feel overwhelmed. To call what I write and they write by the same name seems unfair to me. I dwell surrounded by vastly talented bunch of people!
And I haven't even read that many world reknown poets.
It doesn't make me stop trying though. May be someday I'll get closer and then call it poetry.
Good Luck to you, Aniket!!!
You are in for the best, I hope.
Sure you'll work wonders...
Will surely wait foryour wonderful posts:)
Keep Writing, dear friend.
Very witty and amusing, Ani!! You have such a way with words. I know you won't have trouble landing another job. Got my fingers crossed for you. ;)
Deepa-
Not sure if you know. But I've shifted fiction work to http://flashfiction.in
I mostly post there these days. New post is up. :D
Thanks for your wishes!
Kaye -
Oh, I have offers if I want another job right now. I don't want to.
Probably would start my own firm pretty soon and see how that works. :)
Ahhh....This was long missing from you....i remember you writing a poem like that long time ago..may be in May or April.
It feels so good to read a poem which not only rhymes heavenly but also makes curious about the clue itself..
Good Job :)
Mahesh -
Well this is the first cryptic one I've written. But all in all April was most fun. Tried a lot of things in the Poetry Month so this might have resembled something.
Glad to know you remember some of my work for that back a time. :)
clever little poem/riddle! i'm not great at them either - but ok when i'm motivated.
i can't beleive you quit your job. not because you quit, but i seem to recall a while back you had a list of things to do before you die or something - and i recall that getting fired from a job was one of them - since you decided to leave, you could've had some fun seeing how much mischeif/mayhem it would've taken for them to can you. oh well - next time.
and what's with the novel-in-a-month thing? first it swallowed cat, now you - so of course we will be expecting greatness. (forget you? as if that were possible....)
Joaquin -
I honestly don't know what would have been enough to make them sack me. I don't mean to brag but they offered the following to make me stay:
1. 40% salary hike
2. Chauffeur driven car to office
3. Trip to New Jeresy
4. Slashing of work hours to 6 hrs per day
5. Project change if I want
6. Location change if I want
7. Technology shift if I want
But I knew that if I agreed to any of them, it'll be like selling the soul to devil. I'll still hate what I do here.
So had to quit. But if all goes as planned I'll be making double the money working from home. Sounds too good to be true, right?
Will brag about in 3 months if I manage to pull it off. :D
The NaNoWriMo thing didn't go all that well for me and Sarah. We cant seem to keep writing without re-reading/editing a chapter till it sits well.
I am still not happy with the way the first chapter has turned out. So the novels gonna take a hell lot of a time.
